After 18 years of racing Megan Reitenour has climbed her way from the Quarter Midget ranks to the highly competitive Nascar Whelen Late Model Series. Now Reitenour looks to welcome another challenge. Reitenour has been chosen as one of the 18 finalists in the elite PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge. Reitenour has earned over 200 wins, seven championships, and five rookie of the year honors. She was the first-ever female to win at the famed Tri County Speedway by winning the Firecracker 150 Late Model event. "As blessed as I have been, I still haven't reached my "Peak" and am honored to be chosen as a finalist in the PEAK Stock Car Dream challenge."
The Challenge will take place in Charlotte, NC during a three day series showdown on June 9-11 and the competition is fierce and will ultimately end with one finalist receiving a PEAK racing sponsorship for a 2014 NASCAR K & N Pro Series race of the sponsors' choice.
Reitenour's seven championships and several rookie of the year honors, has helped her but the competition is tough and she will put it all on the line to be the final competitor standing.
Reitenour said, "I think it's really cool for an American company like PEAK to recognize an aspiring driver like myself and I'm so excited and thankful for this wonderful opportunity. We as racers understand how hard it is today, to secure sponsorship. This is a once in a lifetime chance to continue my career and it's amazing for PEAK to give me a chance to prove my skills and work with such racing legends like Michael Watrip, Clint Bowyer and Danica Patrick. I cannot thank PEAK Antifreeze and Motor Oil as well as Michael Waltrip Racing enough for the opportunity." She also said, "Racers don't fear being on the track, we fear not being able to be on the track and you can bet I will be giving it my all to be the last driver standing."
