Megan Reitenour, first year driver for the Drive for Diversity Program and team Leicht Motorsports pulls through with strong finishes for the Mother's Day Twin 35s at Tri-County Speedway in Hudson, NC. The Miamisburg High School senior, qualified fifth in the first feature event of the evening. On lap five, Reitenour passed to the inside to take over the fourth place position. Reitenour then waged a fierce battle to hold off R.A. Brown for the remainder of the race to pull through with a fourth place finish.
For the second feature event of the evening, Reitenour qualified in second position of the fourteen car field. On lap eight, veteran driver Brandon Poole passed Reitenour on the inside to take over the second place position. Reitenour then used the high line as R.A. Brown took the low line, waging a fierce door to door battle for the remaining five laps of the event. Reitenour, being successful in holding off R.A. Brown by a car length as she crossed the finish line, to pull through with a third place finish and advancing herself into a fifth place standing in the points.
Reitenour said, "It was a great race. I'm sure it was an exciting race for the fans. R.A. Brown and I really battled through out both races. I have a lot of respect for him and feel it is an honor to race with him. My team and I are really starting to work well together and I'm excited for the season ahead of us."
